The total increased by about 565,000, or 2%, from a year earlier, with foreign visitors accounting for almost 90% of the gain. Germany remains by far the largest international market, generating more than 7.5 million overnight stays, equivalent to about 29% of the total and 57% of foreign nights. June was weaker than a year earlier, however, while advance holiday-home bookings for the rest of 2026 remain broadly in line with last year.
