Air Serbia has announced a major expansion of its network for 2026, adding six new direct routes from Belgrade as part of a combined summer and winter schedule. For the first time, the national carrier is publishing both seasonal timetables simultaneously, allowing passengers and travel partners to plan trips further in advance. Tickets for all new routes are already on sale.

Summer 2026: Mediterranean, Caucasus and North America

During the summer season, Air Serbia will launch three new routes:

Santorini (Greece) — starting April 30, 2026. The route targets leisure demand to one of Greece’s most iconic islands, known for its Cycladic architecture and strong international tourism appeal.

Baku (Azerbaijan) — launching May 3, 2026, marking Air Serbia’s entry into the Caucasus market. The route is expected to support growing cultural, tourism and business links between Serbia and Azerbaijan.

Toronto (Canada) — beginning May 23, 2026. This long-haul route expands Air Serbia’s North American network and is aimed at business, leisure and diaspora travel. It also restores direct air connectivity between Belgrade and Canada for the first time in nearly three decades, following the last service operated by JAT.

Winter 2026: Southern Europe, Canary Islands and the Arctic

The winter schedule will introduce three additional destinations:

Seville (Spain) — from September 30, 2026, targeting city breaks and cultural tourism in southern Spain.

Tenerife (Canary Islands) — from October 27, 2026. With year-round mild weather, the route is positioned for extended winter holidays and family travel.

Tromsø (Norway) — from December 14, 2026, opening a new Arctic tourism market focused on northern lights experiences, winter sports and nature-based travel.

Strategic Rationale

According to Air Serbia, the expansion reflects changing travel habits and rising demand for direct, experience-driven destinations. By balancing summer and winter routes, the airline aims to reduce seasonality, improve fleet utilisation and strengthen Belgrade’s role as a regional hub linking Europe with North America and the Caucasus.

International Investment analysts note that the addition of Toronto and Baku is strategically significant for diaspora and business connectivity, while Santorini, Tenerife and Tromsø underscore the airline’s growing focus on high-profile leisure destinations. Together, the routes position Air Serbia closer to a hybrid network–leisure carrier model.
