The high crime rate in Cyprus forced the Cypriots and investors to go to the mayor's offices

The high crime rate in Cyprus forced the Cypriots and investors to go to the mayor's offices
Flash mob against a high level of crime will be held in Cyprus

Flash mob against the numerous crimes that are increasingly occurring in Cyprus, will be held on May 14 near each city hall from 9 to 10 am in all parts of the country.

One of the flash mob participants, investor Irina Yakimovich, recently said, there are a lot of crimes in Cyprus: robberies, thefts, and other crimes:

"My friends, unfortunately, we, like many other residents of Cyprus, were recently robbed. Recently, thieves got into the house for money and killed the owners of the house in Nicosia. This was done by drug addicts who did not have enough money for a dose. Safety is important to all of us. This is something for which many have moved to Cyprus, tool their children and families, invested in real estate and business. We were not rescued by alarms, safes, dogs or neighbors. Children are stressed and afraid to sleep. People think that there are not enough policemen to fight crime. They themselves are robbed, they are few and they are paid low salaries. In Cyprus, criminals have more rights than policemen now. Therefore, on May 14 we go to the flash mob "Stop crime. You can".

Activities will be held in all cities of Cyprus near the mayoralties, from 9 to 10 am. People will come to say "No" to crime. We want to solve the problem altogether, to help the police and municipalities to find a solution. "

The participants of the flash mob noticed that the problem is relevant throughout Cyprus - in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Camares and many other cities. The event is planned to involve both indigenous Cypriots and migrants from Russia, Ukraine and other countries - former Soviet republics, who moved to Cyprus for investment and in search of a safer and more peaceful life.

International Investment notes that people come out to the streets not against the authorities, but with a constructive goal: to solve the problem and to protect their families and investments together with the authorities.

For example, after many crimes in Camares, the inhabitants self-organized and agreed with the management company about late night and night patrolling of the village by the security service and with the police about a detour of the territory of Camares by a patrol.

It is noteworthy that many migrants from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine are most active in organizing the fight against crime, as in social networks the inhabitants of Cyprus note that most of the criminals are attracted by emigrants. The reason is simple - many people moved to Cyprus for investment and business, and therefore their homes and families - a tasty piece for criminals. It has been like this for several years.

Also, not indifferent inhabitants of Cyprus come out to contact with police chiefs to draw attention to the problem.

At the same time, social networks often point to cases of police inactivity, including ignoring calls.

According to analysts of International Investment, the sharp deterioration in the criminal situation in Cyprus is capable of causing serious damage to its economy. A surge in crime discourages investors and tourists from the island. The response to the outlined activities by Cypriot authorities depends on the tourist and investment climate. The organizers of the flash mob call on the not indifferent Cypriots to join them and plan a whole cycle of events.

Also, in most cities of Cyprus, there will be meetings against the aggravation of crime. However, there are difficulties with the coordination of events in the mayoralty in a number of cities. In particular, for this reason, meetings and flash mobs, planned throughout the country on May 7, were postponed to May 14.
