Georgia Records All-Time High Tourism Revenue — Galt & Taggart
Georgia's tourism revenue rose by 11.9% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026, reaching a quarterly record of $1.9 billion, according to Galt & Taggart. Analysts forecast that annual revenue from the sector will reach $5.3 billion in 2027.
The number of international visits reached 2.6 million between July and September, up 3.3% from the same period last year. Tourist visits climbed to a record 2.1 million, while same-day visits declined by 2.8%.
The strongest growth in visitor numbers was recorded from European Union countries, Azerbaijan, China, Israel, Ukraine, and Russia. Arrivals from Azerbaijan increased at a faster pace following the resumption of passenger rail services between Baku and Tbilisi in May. Improved air connectivity, including the launch of direct Shanghai–Tbilisi flights in July, contributed to growth in the Chinese market.
Meanwhile, visits from Turkey, Armenia, India, and Saudi Arabia declined in the third quarter.
