Wyndham expands its presence in Europe and Georgia

The international hotel chain Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced a 21% increase in newly opened rooms in the third quarter of 2025. According to Travel and Tour World, the company strengthened its position in the European market amid a record tourism recovery, with France, Spain, and Italy becoming the main centers of international travel growth and accommodation demand.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts continues to expand across Europe, where tourism flows have reached their highest levels in recent years. New hotels are being opened in the most visited cities and resort areas, allowing the company to capitalize on the increase in international flights and traveler activity. Demand for accommodation remains strong thanks to the recovery of transport connections, rising household incomes, and growing interest in diverse leisure formats.

Wyndham’s growth in Europe is largely driven by leading markets, with France at the forefront. In 2024, the country welcomed 102 million tourists, and total spending reached €126 billion. These figures have encouraged hotel construction and development in regions beyond traditional destinations such as Paris, Provence, and the French Riviera. The expansion of international routes by Air France, Delta, and United Airlines has improved accessibility, while growing interest in sustainable travel has driven the introduction of energy-efficient solutions in Wyndham hotels.

A similar trend is observed in Spain, where tourism recovery has been among the strongest in Europe. In 2024, the country hosted 94 million visitors, and industry revenues rose by 10% year over year. The main flow is concentrated in Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville, where the upscale segment is expanding rapidly. New routes by Delta Airlines, Iberia, and British Airways have made Spain more accessible to travelers from the U.S. and Europe. Wyndham continues to add properties in major cities and resorts, offering options across all price categories and strengthening its position in one of the continent’s most dynamic markets.

Italy remains one of the most resilient destinations, ensuring Wyndham steady growth in Southern Europe. In 2024, tourist arrivals reached 60 million, with revenues totaling €60 billion. The country continues to serve as a hub for cultural and culinary tourism, drawing visitors to its historic cities and UNESCO sites. At the same time, authorities are promoting lesser-known routes, supporting agritourism and regional travel. Wyndham operates in Rome, Milan, and Florence, providing a high level of service and accommodation formats tailored to international demand.

Beyond Europe, the company is developing projects in Georgia, which in 2025 secured its status as one of the most dynamic destinations in the region. Batumi has become a major attraction for international investors, and it is here that the global brand is implementing its largest project — Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio. The hotel complex brings together five luxury-level properties in the prestigious coastal district of Gonio, with a total infrastructure area exceeding 27,000 sq. m. Management has been assigned to Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA, one of the world’s leading hotel operators.

The synergy between airlines and hotel chains has become a key factor in the tourism recovery across Europe and Georgia. The expansion of international routes has provided record accessibility and stimulated investment. The hospitality sector is responding with more rooms, digital services, and personalized guest programs. Against this backdrop, Wyndham continues to strengthen its position, increasing its share in markets where demand is rebounding the fastest.
