Wyndham Expands Its Global Presence: Baymont Debuts in the Asia-Pacific Region

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts continues to strengthen its global footprint, taking a strategic step in two key directions at once. In China, the company has opened Baymont by Wyndham Kunming Wuhua—the brand’s first hotel outside the Americas and a symbol of confident expansion into the region’s dynamic midscale segment. At the same time, Georgia is seeing renewed growth in luxury hotel projects, including Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio, where demand for premium leisure and long-term investment continues to rise.

This parallel expansion—reinforcing the midscale segment in Asia and the premium segment in the Black Sea region—reflects Wyndham’s global strategy to scale across different price categories and strengthen its role as an international operator in top-performing tourism markets.

Baymont Kunming Wuhua: The First Step Beyond the Americas

The opening of Baymont Kunming Wuhua marks an important milestone for Wyndham: a brand with more than 550 hotels across North America is entering the international arena for the first time. The choice of Kunming—the capital of Yunnan Province, a region experiencing strong domestic tourism recovery and rapid demand for comfortable yet affordable accommodations—underscores Wyndham’s strategic vision.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close to cultural and business districts, Cuihu Park, and the Yunnan Wildlife Park. Its 92 contemporary guestrooms include HDTVs, tea and coffee stations, minibars, and workspaces, making it a convenient choice for both business travelers and tourists.

Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, parking, daily breakfast, and 300 sq. m of multifunctional event space accommodating up to 180 guests. This makes the property attractive for conferences, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations.

The launch of Baymont Kunming Wuhua reinforces Wyndham’s confidence in the resilience of China’s tourism recovery and its role as a cornerstone of the company’s Asia-Pacific growth strategy.

Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio: Premium Growth on the Black Sea Coast

Alongside its expansion in Asia, Wyndham is strengthening its presence in the high-yield segment of the Black Sea region.
Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio is among the company’s most notable projects in Georgia. The property sits in the prestigious district of Gonio, which is rapidly emerging as an elite seaside destination.

The hotel combines premium architecture, panoramic sea views, a robust infrastructure, a full spa complex, swimming pools, and the signature Wyndham Grand service. The project plays a key role in shaping Batumi’s tourism positioning, attracting high-end travelers and investors seeking stable, long-term hotel-sector opportunities.

Amid the continued growth of tourist flows in Adjara and rising demand for branded resorts, the property further strengthens Wyndham’s international presence and underscores the company’s strategy of expanding into more profitable premium segments.
